"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ."
—Ephesians 1.3
In the course of life there are ups and downs, times of blessings and times of great need. Job summed this up well when he said "The Lord gives and the Lord takes away—blessed be the name of the Lord" (Job 1.21). Ephesians 1.3 tells us why we bless the Lord, even if we have felt needs, because no matter what trials we face in life our "spiritual blessings" are secure in the "heavenly realms". That is to say our spiritual walk with Jesus will always enrich our life and can never be taken away even by the difficult times we face. In our requests may we focus on Jesus and hear Him speak to us with His words of comfort and love.

Well, Dustin. I must say you are right on the money as usual. Reading your post made me miss just how everyday and personal you are. I miss greatly your practical application to spiritual truths. I also have to share that I am learning this particular lesson in abundance these past few months. Our struggle to have children has grown me and us more than imaginable. I know that continuing to focus on God is stacking up blessings in the heavenly realms, but it is hard to walk through the day to day without seeing the blessings here in this life. Nonetheless, I am searching for my true contentment in nothing more than Our Lord Himself. He is a wonderful God that I do not understand. I love Him all the more though and can see so many wonderful things in the midst of this trial. Thank you for your thoughts and encouragement.
